Description

PhysioStim Ear-Clip Electrodes (Pair)

The PhysioStim Ear-Clip Electrodes are precision pigtail-style clips designed for auricular vagus nerve stimulation (tVNS) and compatible with any TENS or electrotherapy device using standard 2 mm pin leads. Each pair allows comfortable, targeted stimulation at the tragus of the left ear — an area shown to contain sensory branches of the vagus nerve.

Suggested Stimulation Settings
Pulse Width: 200 µs | Frequency: 25 Hz | Duration: 10–20 minutes | Placement: 1 earclip electrode over the Left tragus & 1 standard 2″ x 2″ electrode pad over the left upper trapezius

Features & Benefits

  • Pigtail-lead design ensures flexibility and reliable connectivity.
  • Comfortable clip tips provide secure yet gentle attachment to the tragus.
  • Compatible with all 2 mm TENS/EMS lead wires.
  • Reusable and easy to clean with alcohol wipes.
  • Includes bilingual (English/French) instruction insert.

How to Use

  1. Attach one ear clip to the tragus of the left ear (not the earlobe).
  2. Place a standard electrode pad on the left upper trapezius.
  3. Set your TENS unit to 200 µs pulse width and 25 Hz frequency.
  4. Increase intensity slowly until a mild tingling is felt.
  5. Relax for 10–20 minutes with slow breathing.
Note: For professional or guided use only. Not intended to diagnose, treat, or cure disease. Discontinue use if irritation or dizziness occurs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Click on the question to reveal the answer!
What are the Physio-Stim Ear-Clip Electrodes used for?

These ear-clip electrodes are designed for auricular branch of the vagus nerve stimulation (tVNS) by clipping one onto the tragus of the left ear and connecting to a standard TENS or electrotherapy device via 2 mm pin leads.

Which devices are these electrodes compatible with?

They are compatible with most standard TENS and electrotherapy units that accept 2 mm pin pigtail lead wires.

How do I use these electrodes for tVNS?

Clip one electrode to the left ear’s tragus, attach the second lead to a standard adhesive pad on the left upper trapezius, set your TENS unit to about 200 µs pulse width and 25 Hz frequency, and run the stimulation for 10-20 minutes.

Are these electrodes reusable and how do I clean them?

Yes, they feature a durable pigtail-lead design and can be reused. To clean, wipe the clip surfaces gently with alcohol wipes and ensure they are fully dry before next use.

Why might someone choose these ear-clip electrodes instead of standard pad electrodes?

These electrodes enable targeted stimulation of the auricular branch of the vagus nerve (ABVN) via the tragus, which is a specialized application beyond typical pad placement—ideal when tVNS is the objective.

These electrodes enable targeted stimulation of the auricular branch of the vagus nerve (ABVN) via the tragus, which is a specialized application beyond typical pad placement—ideal when tVNS is the objective.

Are there any warnings or who should avoid using them?

Do not use both ears simultaneously. Avoid use if you have a pacemaker, are pregnant, have uncontrolled seizure disorders, or metal implants near the stimulation site. Stop use if you experience irritation or dizziness.

How long do the electrodes last, and when should they be replaced?

With proper care they can be reused multiple times. However, if the clip loses adhesion, the lead becomes damaged or the tingle sensation quality diminishes, it’s time to replace them.

What makes these ear-clip electrodes different from generic clip or pad electrodes?

This model is specifically designed for auricular vagus nerve stimulation—with pigtail lead compatibility, secure clip placement at the tragus, and included bilingual instructions—making them a purpose-built accessory rather than a generic pad alternative.
