Medium-Firm Support for Massage and Exercise

The OPTP PRO-ROLLER Standard combines comfortable support with medium-firm pressure for self-massage, muscle recovery, stretching, mobility work and rehabilitation exercise.

Professional-Quality 36-Inch EVA Foam Roller

Its full-length, closed-cell EVA foam construction is designed for repeated use at home, in physiotherapy clinics, gyms and studios. Choose from Blue Marble or Green Marble.

Description

The OPTP PRO-ROLLER Standard Foam Roller provides medium-firm support for massage, stretching, mobility and exercise. It is firmer than the OPTP Soft and Super Soft rollers without being as rigid as many high-density black foam rollers.

Its balanced Standard density makes it a versatile choice for people who want more direct pressure during foam rolling while still requiring a comfortable and supportive surface for Pilates, yoga, core exercise and rehabilitation.

Balanced Medium Firmness

The Standard-density PRO-ROLLER offers more resistance and pressure than OPTP’s softer rollers. It maintains a supportive shape beneath the body while providing enough compression for comfortable, controlled movement.

Professional Quality for Repeated Use

Durable, closed-cell EVA foam helps the roller retain its shape through regular use in physiotherapy clinics, fitness facilities, Pilates studios and home exercise environments. Its non-absorbent surface can be wiped clean after use.

Is Medium Firmness Right for You?

Choose this Standard model when you want more pressure than a Soft or Super Soft roller. People who are new to foam rolling, have highly sensitive tissues or find firm pressure uncomfortable may prefer one of OPTP’s softer-density models.

Massage, Mobility and Muscle Recovery

The OPTP PRO-ROLLER Standard can be used to apply controlled pressure to larger muscle groups and targeted areas. Users can adjust the intensity by changing their position and supporting more or less body weight through their arms, hands or opposite leg.

Common foam-rolling areas include:

  • Hamstrings and quadriceps
  • Adductors and inner thighs
  • Gluteal muscles and hip rotators
  • Calves and lower legs
  • Upper and lower back muscles
  • Muscles surrounding the outer thigh and hip

Move slowly and maintain control. More pressure is not always better, and foam rolling should not cause sharp pain, numbness or tingling.

Full-Length Support for Exercise

The 36-inch length provides enough room to support the head, spine and pelvis during selected exercises performed while lying lengthwise along the roller. It can also accommodate both legs or larger muscle groups during rolling and stretching.

Common exercise applications include:

  • Pilates and core-strengthening exercises
  • Postural and spinal mobility movements
  • Balance and stability training
  • Yoga and supported positioning
  • Warm-up and cool-down routines
  • Stretching and mobility exercises
  • Rehabilitation exercises prescribed by a healthcare professional

Understanding OPTP Foam-Roller Densities

DensityPressure and SupportBest Suited For
Super SoftThe gentlest compression and most forgiving surfaceHighly sensitive users, beginners and comfortable introductory exercise

The OPTP PRO-ROLLER Standard occupies the middle-to-firmer portion of this range. It provides more direct feedback than the Soft model while retaining some cushioning beneath the body.

Blue Marble and Green Marble Variations

The Blue Marble and Green Marble variations have the same dimensions, density, material and intended uses. The only functional difference is the colour.

Durable Closed-Cell EVA Foam

The PRO-ROLLER Standard is made from heat-moulded, closed-cell EVA foam. This durable construction is designed to outperform basic open-cell foam rollers that may absorb moisture, lose their shape or deteriorate more quickly with repeated use.

The surface is appropriate for busy professional environments where the roller may be used regularly by multiple clients, provided it is cleaned between users according to the facility’s infection-control procedures.

How to Control Foam-Rolling Pressure

Place the roller beneath the muscle group being addressed. Use the arms, hands, feet or opposite leg to support part of your body weight and control how much pressure is transferred to the roller.

Beginners should start with shorter sessions and lighter pressure. Pressure can be increased gradually as the user becomes familiar with the movement and confirms that the area tolerates rolling comfortably.

Using the Roller for Balance and Core Exercise

The full-round shape creates movement beneath the body and can increase the stability demands of selected exercises. Begin with floor-based movements and maintain contact with a stable surface when additional support is required.

People with impaired balance, recent injuries or medical conditions should use the roller under the direction of a physiotherapist or other qualified healthcare professional.

Cleaning and Care

Wipe the roller with a disinfecting wipe or a damp cloth using mild dishwashing liquid or laundry detergent. Remove any remaining cleaning residue and allow the roller to dry completely before storing it.

Do not soak the roller or use harsh solvents. Keep it away from sharp objects, excessive heat and heavy equipment that could cause cuts, punctures or prolonged compression.

  1. I searched high and low for a medium foam roller to replace an old one and this meets all of my requirements. It is the perfect density, not soft but not rock hard either. This foam roller is also extremely well made and should last many years.

  2. Bought it for my wife but I like it too
Originally ordered it because my wife wanted a foam roller for pilates and we got a couple of the pilates books. She had me try it whenmy back was sore and now I use it whenever I have sore muscles. It hurts a little bit but man do you feel better afterwards. Good for core workouts too.

  3. Great for health maintenance
My husband & I LOVE this foam roller! It really helps press tension out of the muscles along the spine and gives your back an AMAZING stretch. It’s not unusual to for your back to "crack" a couple of times as the tension leaves your muscles. My husband was able to get off his prescription pain medication because using the foam roller every day keeps his low back pain in check. This is the 3rd OPTP Pro-Roller we’ve purchased, we give them as gifts because it’s almost like giving somebody a gift certificate for a massage! It’s a great compliment to any stretching or Yoga routine. Enjoy!

  4. most excellent roller….
there’s no comparison to this roller and the typical hard roller. quality rules here.

What size is this foam roller?

It measures 36 inches long and 6 inches in diameter, or approximately 91.4 cm long and 15.2 cm in diameter.

Is this a full-round foam roller?

Yes. This product is the full-round 36-inch by 6-inch model. OPTP also manufactures smaller-diameter and half-round rollers, but those are separate products.

Who should choose a medium-firm foam roller?

It is a good choice for users who want more pressure than a soft roller provides while retaining some cushioning and comfort. It is suitable for general foam rolling, massage, exercise and rehabilitation programs.

Is this foam roller suitable for beginners?

Beginners can use it, but the pressure will feel stronger than the Soft or Super Soft models. Begin with lighter body weight, shorter sessions and well-supported positions.

Can it be used for muscle recovery?

Yes. It can be incorporated into warm-up, cool-down and recovery routines to apply controlled pressure to tight or tired muscles.

Which muscles can be rolled with it?

It may be used for the hamstrings, quadriceps, adductors, glutes, hip rotators, calves and muscles surrounding the back. Avoid rolling directly over bones, joints or injured areas.

Can I use the OPTP PRO-ROLLER for my back?

Yes. Its full length can support selected back, posture and mobility exercises. Avoid aggressive rolling directly over the spine or neck, particularly when an injury or medical condition is present.

Can it be used for Pilates and yoga?

Yes. The 36-inch length is useful for selected Pilates, yoga, postural, balance and core exercises, including movements performed while lying lengthwise along the roller.

Is this roller suitable for physiotherapy clinics?

Yes. Its durable closed-cell EVA foam construction is designed for repeated use in physiotherapy clinics, rehabilitation facilities, gyms, studios and home exercise environments.

How do I clean the foam roller?

Wipe it with a disinfecting wipe or a damp cloth and mild detergent. Remove any cleaning residue and allow the surface to dry completely before storing it.

Does foam rolling need to hurt to be effective?

No. Foam rolling may create pressure over tight muscles, but it should remain tolerable. Sharp pain, numbness, tingling or worsening symptoms are signs to stop.

Will the roller compress during use?

It may compress slightly because it is made from EVA foam, but the Standard density is designed to provide more resistance and maintain a supportive shape compared with OPTP’s softer rollers.

What comes with the product?

The product includes one full-round 36-inch by 6-inch OPTP PRO-ROLLER in the selected Blue Marble or Green Marble colour.
