CalorDerm IceFlow Pro Knee Cold Compression Therapy Pad

The CalorDerm IceFlow Pro Knee Cold Compression Therapy Pad is designed for use with the CalorDerm IceFlow Pro Cold & Compression Therapy Unit.

It connects to the IceFlow Pro using the compatible three-way hose system. This allows the pad to deliver circulating cold therapy and adjustable compression when used with the IceFlow Pro unit.

This product page includes knee pad options only. The CalorDerm IceFlow Pro main unit and three-way hose assembly are sold separately unless included as part of a bundle.

Important skin safety reminder

Do not place this pad directly on bare skin. Always use a cloth, sleeve, dressing, towel, or suitable underlayer between the cold-compression pad and the skin. Check the skin regularly during use and follow your healthcare provider’s instructions.

Small / Medium Straight Knee & Calf Pad

The Small / Medium straight pad is a versatile option for knee and calf applications. It may be used as a knee cold-compression pad or as a calf pad for recovery needs involving the calf area.

This option may be helpful for calf strains, calf tears, Achilles rupture recovery support, and other lower-leg recovery situations when recommended by a healthcare provider.

Large / X-Large Straight Knee & Thigh Pad

The Large / X-Large straight pad is designed for larger knee applications. In addition, it may also be used as a thigh pad when a larger treatment area is needed.

This option may be helpful for larger knees or thigh-area recovery needs when used under healthcare provider guidance.

Flexible Contoured Knee Pad

The flexible contoured knee pad is designed specifically for knee use. Unlike the straight pad options, this style is shaped to better follow a bent or flexed knee position.

This option may be a better choice when the knee needs to rest in a more flexed position during treatment.

Flexible contoured knee pad highlights

  • Designed for knee use only
  • Contoured shape for use around the knee
  • 25 inch pad length
  • Designed for a bent or flexed knee position
  • Compatible with the CalorDerm IceFlow Pro three-way hose system
  • Maximum circumference to be confirmed

Cold and Compression Pad Connection

The IceFlow Pro pad uses a three-way connection because the Pro system provides both cold therapy and compression therapy.

Three-way pad connection

  • One connection supports air compression
  • One connection supports cold water flow out to the pad
  • One connection supports water return back to the unit

This three-way design allows the compatible IceFlow Pro unit to circulate chilled water through the pad while also applying adjustable compression.

Common Recovery Uses

The IceFlow Pro knee pad may be used as part of a healthcare-guided recovery plan after knee surgery, knee injury, swelling, soft tissue irritation, or activity-related soreness.

Depending on the selected pad style, it may also support calf or thigh applications. For example, the Small / Medium straight pad may be used on the calf, while the Large / X-Large straight pad may be used on the thigh.

Use as directed

Cold and compression therapy should be used according to your healthcare provider’s instructions. Treatment time, compression level, pad position, skin-check intervals, and use after surgery may vary depending on your condition and recovery plan.

Pad Safety and Skin Protection

Cold and compression therapy can be helpful when used properly. However, direct cold contact or excessive compression may irritate the skin or cause injury.

Always use a suitable underlayer between the pad and skin. In addition, check the skin regularly during treatment.

Important safety reminders

  • Do not apply the pad directly to bare skin.
  • Use a cloth, sleeve, dressing, towel, or suitable barrier under the pad.
  • Do not overtighten the straps.
  • Stop use if the pad feels too cold, too tight, painful, or uncomfortable.
  • Stop use if you notice numbness, burning, increased pain, excessive redness, blistering, or unusual skin colour changes.
  • Do not use over open wounds, broken skin, active infection, or irritated skin unless directed by a healthcare provider.
  • Do not sleep while using cold and compression therapy unless specifically instructed by a healthcare professional.

Who Should Ask a Healthcare Provider Before Use?

Speak with a healthcare provider before using cold and compression therapy if you have poor circulation, diabetes, neuropathy, reduced skin sensation, Raynaud’s syndrome, cold hypersensitivity, vascular disease, a history of frostbite, clotting disorders, deep vein thrombosis, or significant swelling disorders.

You should also speak with a healthcare provider if you are unsure how long to use cold and compression therapy after surgery.

Care, Cleaning, and Storage

After use, disconnect the pad from the hose assembly and drain the pad as directed in the IceFlow Pro instructions. Then, allow the pad to dry fully before storage.

Store the pad flat or gently folded without kinking the connection area. Finally, keep the pad, straps, hose, and accessories together with the IceFlow Pro carrying/storage bag when fully dry.

Pad care tips

  • Drain the pad between uses when recommended.
  • Allow the pad to dry fully before storage.
  • Do not immerse electrical components, hose connectors, or the IceFlow Pro unit in water.
  • Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Inspect the pad, straps, and connector before each use.
  • Use only CalorDerm-approved pads and accessories with the IceFlow Pro system.
