Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Hyperice X 2 Knee and how does it work?
The Hyperice X 2 Knee is an advanced electronic hot, cold, and contrast therapy device with built-in compression. It switches between heat, cold, or alternating contrast modes without ice or water, helping reduce pain, stiffness, and swelling in the knee.
What temperatures can the Hyperice X 2 Knee reach?
It cools to approximately 4°C (40°F) and heats to about 49°C (121°F). This wide temperature range provides deeper, more consistent therapy than gel packs or ice packs.
Does the Hyperice X 2 Knee include compression?
Yes. The device features multiple compression levels to enhance circulation, promote recovery, and increase the effectiveness of the hot or cold therapy.
How long does the battery last?
A full charge typically provides up to 1.5 hours of portable use. The device can also be used while plugged in, making longer sessions possible.
Do I need to use the app to operate it?
No. The Hyperice X 2 Knee includes an onboard OLED display for full control of heat, cold, contrast, and compression. The app is optional if you want preset routines or Bluetooth control.
Is the Hyperice X 2 Knee comfortable to wear?
Yes. It features an upgraded wrap with soft materials, secure straps, and improved coverage, designed to stay in place comfortably during therapy or movement.
Can the Hyperice X 2 Knee be used on both the left and right knee?
Yes. The wrap is fully reversible and fits either knee, making it convenient for users with alternating symptoms or bilateral injuries.
What conditions can this device help with?
It is effective for knee soreness, swelling, arthritis, ligament strains, tendinitis, post-exercise recovery, and post-operative rehabilitation with professional guidance.
How does it compare to traditional ice or heat packs?
Unlike gel packs that lose temperature quickly, the X 2 maintains consistent heat or cold throughout the session. It also adds compression, which significantly improves the depth and effectiveness of the treatment.
Who is the Hyperice X 2 Knee best suited for?
It’s ideal for athletes, active people, individuals with chronic knee pain, and anyone recovering from injury or surgery who wants high-performance, mess-free contrast therapy.
How quickly does the Hyperice X 2 Knee switch between hot and cold?
The device transitions between heat and cold in seconds using its electronic thermal system. This allows smooth contrast therapy without waiting for packs to freeze or heat up.
Can I move around while using the Hyperice X 2 Knee?
Yes. The device is designed for mobility during treatment. Its secure wrap and wireless battery operation allow gentle walking or light movement while maintaining therapy.
Is the Hyperice X 2 Knee helpful for arthritis?
Many users find relief from knee arthritis due to the combination of heat for stiffness, cold for inflammation, and compression for joint support. Always follow your healthcare provider’s advice for chronic conditions.
How tight should the compression be?
Start at a low or moderate level. Compression should feel supportive but never painful or overly restrictive. Increase gradually based on comfort and therapeutic goals.
Does the Hyperice X 2 Knee replace physiotherapy?
No. It is designed to complement physiotherapy and other rehab programs. It enhances recovery by providing consistent, targeted therapy between appointments.
How long should a typical session be?
Most users benefit from 10–20 minutes of cold, heat, or contrast therapy. Longer sessions are possible when plugged in, but always monitor skin comfort and follow recommended guidelines.
Can I use the Hyperice X 2 Knee immediately after a workout?
Yes. It is ideal for post-training recovery. Cold and compression help reduce inflammation, while contrast therapy promotes circulation and muscle relaxation.
Is the device suitable after knee surgery?
The X 2 Knee may be used post-operatively if your surgeon or physiotherapist approves it. The cold therapy can help with swelling, while heat and contrast therapy can be introduced later during rehabilitation.
How does the Hyperice X 2 Knee maintain consistent temperature?
The device uses thermoelectric technology to actively regulate temperature, keeping the knee at the selected level throughout the session — unlike gel packs that warm or cool unevenly.
What size knee does the Hyperice X 2 fit?
The wrap is designed to fit a wide range of leg sizes. Adjustable straps allow customized tension and secure placement, making it suitable for small to larger knees.
