Instructions for Use

CAUTION: Always inspect the microwave and the wrap before heating. Do not overheat. Never exceed a total of 2 minutes heating time.

For Moist Heat Therapy

Place the wrap on a clean, microwave-safe glass plate and heat for 40 seconds to 2 minutes depending on your microwave’s power. If your microwave lacks a rotating base, cover the wrap with another plate to help distribute heat evenly. Halfway through heating, remove and reverse the fold if necessary. Touch-test before applying. Reheat used wraps (within 2 hours) for half the original time. Add 15-second intervals until the desired warmth is reached.

For Cold Therapy

Place the wrap in a sealed freezer bag and freeze overnight or for at least 3 hours. Apply to the affected area for 20–30 minutes at a time. Allow the skin to rest for at least 20 minutes before reapplying. The CalorDerm microbeads deliver soothing, dry cold therapy without the mess of melting ice or gel packs.

CAUTION: Remove from the freezer if not being used for cold therapy. Do not exceed recommended heating or cooling times.

Cleaning and Care Instructions

Surface clean only. If exposed to oils, creams, or dirt, wait at least 3 hours after use before cleaning. Use mild soap, cold water, and a soft brush to spot clean. Do not soak or submerge the wrap. For best results, store in a clean plastic bag when not in use.

Important: Individuals with diabetes, circulatory problems, nerve damage, or reduced skin sensitivity should use this product only under the advice of a healthcare professional. Exercise caution when using on children or elderly persons with fragile skin.

Frequently Asked Questions

Click on the question to reveal the answer!
Do I need to add water before heating this wrap?

No. The CalorDerm Moist Heat Therapy Wrap uses self-hydrating thermal beads that absorb moisture from the air. When microwaved, they naturally release therapeutic moist heat — no water or damp towel needed.

How do I heat the CalorDerm wrap safely?

Place the wrap flat in a clean microwave and heat for 30–60 seconds. Touch-test before applying to ensure it’s warm, not hot. If more heat is needed, reheat in 10-second intervals until comfortable.

How long should I use the wrap for neck or shoulder pain?

For best results, use the wrap for 15–20 minutes per session. You can repeat up to three times daily, allowing the wrap to cool completely between uses.

What makes CalorDerm a “moist heat” wrap if no water is added?

The specialized beads inside the wrap trap humidity from the surrounding air. When heated, they release soothing vapour that penetrates deeper than dry heat to relax tight muscles and improve circulation.

Can I use this wrap for cold therapy too?

Yes. For a cold compress, seal the wrap in a clean plastic bag and place it in the freezer for at least two hours. It provides gentle cooling relief for inflammation or tension headaches.

  1. Excellent quality. Love it. Heat lasts.

  2. It’s sturdy and moist like a physiotherapy heating pad. It also warms more quickly, provides more evenly distributed heat, and is cheaper than the “magic bag” type of heating pads.

How do I heat the CalorDerm wrap safely?

Yes. For a cold compress, seal the wrap in a clean plastic bag and place it in the freezer for at least two hours. It provides gentle cooling relief for inflammation or tension headaches.

How is CalorDerm different from traditional hot packs?

Unlike electric pads or gel packs, CalorDerm produces moist heat naturally — no cords, water, or covers needed. It’s reusable, portable, and designed to contour comfortably around the neck and shoulders.

Is the CalorDerm wrap reusable?

Absolutely. The wrap can be reheated hundreds of times. Just store it in a dry place between uses so the beads can re-absorb moisture from the air.

Is it safe for sensitive skin or older adults?

Yes — but always test the temperature first. If you have sensitive skin, use a thin towel barrier. Avoid use on areas with poor sensation or open wounds.

Can I wash the CalorDerm wrap?

The outer cover is surface-clean only. Wipe gently with a damp cloth and allow it to air-dry. Do not immerse the wrap in water or machine-wash it.

What conditions can this wrap help with?

It’s ideal for muscle tension, stiffness, arthritis, and post-workout soreness in the neck and shoulder area. The moist heat helps increase blood flow and reduce pain naturally.

How long does the heat last?

After heating, the wrap stays warm for about 20–30 minutes. If you’d like extended sessions, allow it to cool slightly, then reheat in short increments as needed.

Is CalorDerm made in Canada?

Yes. CalorDerm is proudly designed and distributed in Canada by The Physio Store — a physiotherapist-led company specializing in professional-grade recovery products.
