Description

Original McKenzie Lumbar Roll – Standard Density

The Original McKenzie Lumbar Roll – Standard Density is a classic low back support designed to help maintain the natural curve of the lumbar spine while sitting. It can be used at home, at work, in the car or anywhere your seat does not provide enough lower back support.

Many chairs allow the lower back to flatten or slump. Over time, this can place more strain on the spine and surrounding soft tissues. Therefore, adding a simple lumbar roll can make sitting more comfortable and help promote better posture throughout the day.

Supports the natural curve of the lower back

The roll sits in the small of the back to help support the lumbar spine. It is useful for people who want a simple posture aid while sitting at a desk, driving, reading or relaxing.

Standard density: the best starting point for most users

The standard density McKenzie Lumbar Roll gives supportive comfort with some give. It is usually the first option to try if you have not used a lumbar roll before.

Why Choose the Original McKenzie Lumbar Roll?

  • Helps support the natural lumbar curve while sitting
  • Useful for office chairs, car seats, dining chairs and home seating
  • Standard density support suits many users
  • Adjustable elastic strap helps secure the roll to many chair backs
  • Removable, moisture-wicking 100% polyester cover
  • Portable design for work, home and travel
  • Made in the USA using high-quality materials

How to Use the McKenzie Lumbar Roll

  1. Place the roll horizontally across the back of your chair.
  2. Sit back so the roll rests in the small of your lower back.
  3. Adjust the height until it supports the natural curve of your lumbar spine.
  4. Use the strap to help hold the roll in place on the chair back.
  5. Start with shorter periods if you are not used to lumbar support, then increase use as comfort allows.

Positioning tip

The roll should support the small of your back, not the pelvis or upper back. It should feel supportive and comfortable. If pain increases, or if symptoms travel into the leg, stop using it and speak with a qualified healthcare professional.

Standard Density vs. Firm Density

The standard density lumbar roll works well for many people and is usually the best first choice. It provides support while still allowing some compression.

The firm density version may be preferred by larger users, people who want a stronger lumbar arch, or those who already know they prefer a firmer back support. However, if you are unsure, the standard density roll is usually the safer starting point.

  2. This is my second McKenzie
This is my second McKenzie Lumbar Roll (standard density). It was suggested by my physical therapist, who was helping me with spine derangement syndrome. They even had some at their center. I bought one, and use it at home when sitting. I just bought another to use in our vehicles when riding or driving. I love it!!!!
